A Funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Peter James NIALL will be offered at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, KERANG on FRIDAY (21st August, 2026) commencing at 2:00pm.

To Dear Mary, Kathy, Melissa, James (dec) and all the families, our deepest sympathies on the sad passing away of your husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa Peter Niall. Peter was such a loving, caring and gentle soul, a true gentleman. Peter was such a dedicated Lion at Club and District 201V6 level and thoroughly enjoyed working as a volunteer in the Kerang community. He worked on so many projects but by far his favourite was being Chairman and MC for the Kerang Australia Day Celebrations. Pete was a truly proud Australian citizen!
Pete was a great friend of mine from the time we were introduced in the Kerang golf and bowls car park in 1985 and I was proud to be his sponsor into our Lions Club of Kerang. His only fault was being an ardent Collingwood supporter! We will all miss his wisdom, quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. The world has been a better place for knowing him so well and to call him a true mate.

Rest peacefully Pete. Meeting you at May Partners and then at Bowls you were a man I always looked up to with your care for other people. Even when I rang you and told you your backyard in Mitchell Steet was on fire, you stayed relatively calm. Condolences to Pete’s extended family, someone has a big hole to fill at family gatherings from now on.

All the years I spent playing bowls with him at the Golf Bowls club. Also the many years I spent in the Kerang Lions Club with him.
