For some reason, I just wanted to look up the name of Cliff Wise today.
Cliff, like John Wood and Neil Beer (above), were fellow School Prefects at Kerang High School in 1965.
I’m sorry to hear of Cliff’s passing, and I remember his courageous sprint effort in just finishing second at the KHS Sports events in 1965.
I was the son of the then late headmaster Alan McLeod who died a year previously, and I always appreciated the courteous and supportive interactions I had with my fellow Prefects.
Even though we only met for one year in Edmonton in 1981, you and Cliff left an indelible positive mark in our life. Keeping in touch over the years was always an inspiration and a source of joy. We always treasured your friendship and the example you gave us with your positive and wonderful engagement that enriched the life of everyone that had the fortune to meet you. Cliff memory will always be with us. Our loving thoughts are with you and your children in this sad moment of your life. Marina and Vic Alby

Cliff, we had good times at Reservoir Football Club and Croydon Cricket Club in the early 70’s. My condolences to the family.
Dear Wendy and your family,
I was really deeply saddened to learn of your sad news. I have very fond memories of Cliff in our school years and greatly respected his friendship and example back then and what ive come to know since. His spirit will live on, inspiring all who knew him..
Wendy. Thank you for calling me this AM. Very sad time for you. Personally, I have lost my cousin, and he has been my best Mate over many years.
The association goes back to the farm days, high school, then the accident when I used to visit almost daily at the Spinal unit after work.
Later on, we worked together on the family tree (with Cuz Yvonne as well.)
Almost daily jokes/emails were exchanged (some to be censored!).
I will be watching Friday and will definitely be at Boort Monday to say farewell.
Also, to Cuz Sharon….now you have lost your last brother. Thanks for contacting me also.
Cliff achieved so much despite his disability. His OAM was thoroughly deserved as most of us ‘able bodied’ have not done nearly as much.
Will miss ya Mate…… Ian Mellier
