I knew Alex briefly at RAAF East Sale when we on 32 (Air Navigators) Course, along with his course 2 (Air Electronics) Course, did our twelve weeks Basic Training.
I recall him trying, quite unsuccessfully, to teach me the Art of Playing Billiards.
Our paths crossed again at RAAF Laverton and at RAAF Edinburgh and I was always greeted as if no time had passed.
Alex was ALWAYS friendly, generous and inclusive, which makes his passing a great loss to all who knew him.

Dear Alex, memories of one of Dad’s scouts. Important to us when we were growing up. RIP Alex
Since first meeting Alex in January 1966 when we started of No 2 AEO Course RAAF he has been a life long friend. He was one of a kind, generous and forgiving, who demanded nothing from others and always a gentleman. He was often heard to say that any woman who married him would have to be crazy and he did not wish to marry a crazy woman, however the wives of many of his friends just loved to mother him.
My condolences to his family and many old friends. RIP SQNLDR Alex Taylor. (VK3AET ex VK3CCT, VK5CCT, VK9YA plus a few others I cannot remember).
