On behalf of Denise and me, we offer Sharon, Kylie, Lana, Nathan, and their families our deepest sympathy on the passing of neighbour Kevin Maxwell Orr.
Kevin, along with his strong supporter Sharon and family, faced many health issues, climbed and conquered many mountains, and endeavoured to continue his journey through life.
We personally have had the pleasure of living next door to Kevin for quite some time. In many ways, we owe that to Kevin and Sharon, as they took on the challenge and risk of developing this part of Cohuna, now called Orrland Court. This is evident in the construction of many homes and the influx of families, from the old to the young, full of children, to our street.
Kevin’s devotion to this project was exemplary, as he was determined to make it an enjoyable place to live and create the atmosphere needed for the street to have a life of its own and a community that respects and supports each other. We are so grateful that Kevin and Sharon also became part of the community, creating a lovely home and garden and a welcome for everyone.
Kevin contributed so much to our community and the wider one through his career, dedication, and integrity, particularly when he worked with Goulburn Murray Water as it managed change; Kevin adapted his skills and became a valuable part of the team.
Personally, Kevin’s career as a football umpire left the greatest impression on many of us. The role of an umpire doesn’t create that many friends at times. Still, Kevin endeavoured to be fair and balanced in his decisions, and he ensured any infringing player or players were duly notified of his decision.
Kevin, along with the love of his life, Sharon, created a family, raised with confidence and self-esteem, who have gone on to build their own careers and contribute to the communities in which they live. No doubt Kevin mentored many, listened well, and offered sound advice when it mattered.

Kevin had a tenacity to ensure everything was done the right way, whatever he was undertaking. Orrland Court was Kevin’s joy, keeping lawns and areas tidy and mowed to ensure the whole area was presented in the best manner possible for those who live here in the future, and people about to build their home.
Kevin’s personality and the way he engaged in discussions always left others feeling inspired and appreciated, fostering respect and admiration.

The Orrland Court community, along with the wider community and many other places where Kevin actively participated, will be saddened and poorer for your passing. Kev was one of those rare people who could light up a room simply by being himself.
