I have such fond memories of Auntie Gwen from our time in Kerang and visiting her and Uncle Joe at their “House on the Hill”. A long and well lived life. The last of that Sherwell generation. Love to all.

I had the privilege and pleasure of looking after Gwen at St John’s. Gwen was a very special lady indeed. Proud, humble, wise, gentle and kind. Inspiring to say the least. I would sit with Gwen in the evening and she would share with me her latest prose, always reflective and insightful. A life well lived. Rest easy Gwen. Condolences to all of Gwen’s family.
Sincere condolences to all the McCurdy families on the passing of Gwen.
Fond memories of a beautiful, gentle lady.
Thinking of you all 💐
I am sad to hear of Auntie Gwen’s passing. I have fond memories of her, Uncle Joe and our cousins, when as children our families would go camping at Cohuna. Auntie Gwen was a wonderful person, loving, kind, generous with her time to listen to me and help me with a few of my childhood and teenage problems. I loved her sense of humour (I think that’s a Sherwell trait, but it’s a beautiful one to have!), and her positive outlook on life. She was (is) truly a wonderful lady.
Since I moved to Perth in my late 20s to pursue a successful career, I have only met up with Auntie Gwen on a handful of occasions, but I’ve always had a special place for her in my heart. I will miss her. I send my love to her, and to Geoff, Stuart, Rob, Cheryl and your families.
I feel sad that I can’t be with you in person on Friday, but I will attend virtually. I will always remember my beautiful Auntie Gwen.
Thinking of you all.
Love
Alan
Sad to hear of the passing of Aunty Gwen, but what a special life she lived. She was a lovely, caring, and gentle lady who shared a special bond with our Dad (Stan). I have many fond memories of visiting Auntie Gwen and Uncle Joe during my early years.
Though a generation draws to its close, the Sherwell legacy continues to through the children and the countless generations touched by the wonderful lives of Gwen and her 13 siblings.
In my thoughts, Kevin.
