Dear Ali, I was very saddened to hear of Neil’s passing. He was a force of nature and cared about the community around him. You were such a rock for him. Sending you much love ❤️
So sad to hear of Neil’s passing.
It was my pleasure to have had the opportunity to interview him for The Bridge’s A Chat With feature.
Such a kind and gentle man, I will never forget.
Rest peacefully, Neil.
My condolence Travis. To you and your family, may the wonderful memories of love and joy remain in your heart to consulate your loss.
Peter Hanslow.
So sorry to hear of Neil’s passing. Remember all the wonderful times we had with our friends in the fire brigade. They were good days when our children were small.
Thinking of Allie.
Neil was always up for a chat, always had a ready smile when he saw me, & always called me Heather Bell.
I always remember he & dad telling me ‘you can’t use that’ when I was getting Uncle Charlie’s old wooden ladder from Marne st…I only wanted it for decorative purposes & dad & Neil were completely bewildered as to why I wanted it!! I still have it too 😉
It was lovely to have a chat with him in Glenarm when I visited dad, & it was always lovely to see him out the window on his scooter tending to the plants, when I visited dad in his room.
At the beginning of June this year, I saw a monarch butterfly taking a break in the sun, on the road just between the funeral chapel & the timberyard driveway…made me smile.
Much love & sympathy to Ali, Pete & Trav & the grandies too xx
Alison & family, sorry we couldn’t be with you today. Thinking of you and special memories of cousin Neil. Love, Mal & Marj

Alison, Peter, Travis and families- we were so sad to hear of Maccas passing. I will miss him. Always friendly and up for a chat, our friendship goes way back to when his children were at school, and especially later with our time together in Lions where he always showed amazing community spirit. In later years I looked fit to him dropping in to Nolan street when motoring around on his gopher. He was a very good man.
Condolences to you Ali and family on the passing of Neil. Was saddened to hear of his death. Happy memories over the years, especially at Fire Brigade and recent times at Glenarm where he would be tending to his garden. Now at rest.
