I have very fond memories of spending quite a lot of time with Lodgie during our mid/later teen years, and then as team mates with the legendary and very great Border Football Club! – I would have to say that out of all the footballers I ever played with, I never saw anyone who improved so much. Lodgie went from a gangly (and very average) seconds player into a very good and reliable senior grade player- I really valued him as both a reliable team mate, and mate both on and off the field during those years.

Dear Jen, where do I start – neighbours when we first moved to Barham and Phil’s Dad and Allan clicked both being electricians. We lost Phil’s Dad and Allan stepped in as our resident electrician. You guys moved out of town but there was school and footy and cricket with Al & Phil and Stephen & Brayden all being involved. Then John and Faye moved to Barham and John and Phil and Al had a few projects and many laughs. Al with Brent as his apprentice completed the electricals in our extensions. You guys moved away and John & Faye adopted us as their third family and it was always great when you guys came home & even better when you came back here to live, although we probably did not see a lot of you we always knew the connections. Deepest sympathies to you, Brent, Anneka, Stephen and their families, your Mum Faye, Al’s Mum Heather and all the Lodge Family. Al was kind, caring, a great bloke with a special smile as mentioned by many. Sending love to you all at this very sad time and may Allan RIP and may we all treasure the fabulous times we had and memories that are ours to keep.
