On behalf of the Barham Angling Club, we extend our deepest condolences to Don’s family and friends.
Don was always so giving and open with our Angling Club allowing us to camp on his piece of paradise. Our afternoons spent chatting and sharing a bottle or 2 of Black Douglass was legendary…..
Rest easy ol mate.
Regrettably unable to attend the funeral today.
Remembering three generations of connection of the Ford and Landers families – farming Mt Kororoit and the surrounding area (Parwan, Sydenham, Rockbank and Diggers Rest) together and nights out shooting with you and your dad. You had a natural talent working with machinery and earthmoving. We spent many hours burning off together – I remember one time where your quick thinking to drive the truck through the fence instead of going back through the gate was the only reason we were able to hold a fire that had jumped the firebreak into the next paddock. You were a valuable contributor at “Mothers Club” planning meetings around our kitchen table, telling many a good story. Barb recalls the time you escorted me home in case I passed out while driving the tractor after being bitten by a tiger snake that was wrapped in the harrows – you thought it was hilarious Glenn had been bitten by one of his “friends”. You made the move away from the area to quieter country and took the opportunity to visit friends touring around in your massive Winnebago. When you get to your final destination and meet up with your mum and dad, let them know we’ll always hold the Landers family in the highest regard.
