Dear Reg,
It’s been a pleasure to have known you the past 57 years. I will forever treasure the memories we had. Forever in my heart. Olive xx
Vale Reginald ‘Uncle Reg’ Durnford. Passed away last week in his second home Cohuna. The memories are vast, Saturday’s at the Junction oval watching the Fitzroy lions, the large family gatherings in the Brunswick home, digging for grubs in the heat of Cohuna, fishing in the Murray, shooting at Mt Hope. You were in your element in the bush, you taught your nephews and nieces so many things and were patient with us all. Only age slowed you down. You’ll be together again with Dad, Nan Pop, Aunty Joan and Aunty Barbara. Condolences to Uncle Bob and Uncle Ken and families. We won’t be there to say goodbye, but we will be there in spirit. We will miss you Uncle Reg love Gavin, Helen and family.
The Brisbane Lions were saddened to hear of Reg’s passing. He was a committed and compassionate, longstanding member of the club who has proven his loyalty through the Fitzroy Lions to today’s team. He will remain an integral part of the Brisbane Lions foundational history and his legacy and memory will live on at the club. We wish his family, friends and all that knew him strength and comfort during this difficult time. We will miss his unmatched loyalty; it was truly a pleasure having Reg as part of the club.
RIP Reg! Pleasure meeting you & spending time with you on clean days. Beautiful man 🤍
Uncle Reg
