It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mr Alfred Alexander ASHBY.
A Private funeral will be held.
We wish to encourage you to express your sympathies and condolences to the family via a post on this announcement which the family are able to access and read.
Condolences Genevieve & Daryl. Although I didn’t know your dad I felt like I got to know him the last few years!
He is now free from pain. You did an amazing job caring for your dad you should be so proud for all the time you gave to him to make sure he was not alone and comfortable after the passing of your mum. May you be comforted that you cared for him with such love and compassion he would have been so lost without you there by his side. May he RIP🌹
Thank you Julie for those kind words and thank you for being at the end of the phone line as I drove towards Mystic Park unsure as to how I would find dad.
It was comforting to know someone was there if I needed support. 🙏
Thinking of you all at this sad time . A true gentleman
The Salau family
Thank you Tricia. Dad eas full of life stories and the Salau name among many others was mentioned often.
Thoughts and sympathy to Alex’s family and friends.
A long lifetime full of stories to tell, now reunited with Gloria.
Thank you Sarah
My dear cousin, the same age as my Mum, always a smiling happy man.
Condolences to his four girls and families, I know he will be missed by you all.
RIP 💙
Thank you Margaret, Dad was so glad he went to see his Aunty Vesper before she passed. Although your mum was his aunty they were only two years apart in age. I am sure they have caught up and had a good long chat by now.
Fond memories of Alex and his truck. He carted a lot of hay for us and even let me drive his truck from time to time which was quite a buzz for a young 14 or 15 year old who loved trucks. A gentleman through and through.
Thank you Ken, dad lived for his trucking life. I can see him getting home from loading hay, exhausted but looking forward to the drive ahead after a rest.
Thank you Ken for your kind words.
Lib Ashby
My oldest cousin and what a great man. He was a grown-up when I was a young boy but was always there to have a chat, particularly later on in life when I would be travelling to Robinvale and he would be heading towards Melbourne with a load of sheep or cattle ( Mind you , this is over sixty years ago) Always had a great smile and will be long remembered )
Brian, Dad loved a chat and would have especially enjoyed catching up with you. I can see them all together up there having a good old catch up, all talking over each other and just enjoying the moment.
Thank you for your comments.
Genevieve
Thinking of you all at this time as he was a kind man RIP 🙏
Deepest sympathy to Genevieve, Daryl & family and the Ashby families. A life well lived-now at peace.
Thank you Marge and Ken
Thank you Stephanie, dad always enjoyed the beer you delivered in Glenarm. He was hoping they had beer in heaven.
Thanks Stephanie. ❤️
