Sincere condolences to John, Lindsay, Colin, Brett, Allan (Dec) and their extended families on the death of dear Joy. Dear friend and neighbour of the Loosemore family. A particularly sad time for Nellie Loosemore. Friend and neighbour of Joy’s for almost 95 years. Joy and Nellie were born one month apart in early 1928 on neighbouring farms in the Mallee and both married neighbours in the Wandella area. They went to school together. Winning the school sports 3 legged race every year together.
A very respected lady, originally a neighbour , then always a friend . Many would not know of Joy’s sporting history which would be exactly the way she would have wanted it ,
Joy won the Girls Championship Sprint at the Wandella Combined School Sports on two occasions — that would not have been achieved to often , Tennis player at Sandhill Lake where her and her late Sister Gwen were a pair not to be taken lightly ‘ later an opponent at Lake Meran , a netballer and worker at Wandella Football Netball Club and finally a team member at the Kerang Bowling Club where she regularly took office Joy [ nee Knuckey } A lady of highest standing , we will miss her and with that in mind a feel of sadness for John and their extended Family on the loss of Joy . Rest peacefully Joy , a life well lived
