Megsy was such a gentle, kind and genuine guy,
He will be sadly missed, condolences to his close family xx
For decades, John was an integral fixture on our annual Duck Hunting weekends. From setting up camp on the Cockatoo Lagoon to delivering redgum and worms to Bell’s Bend John was always willing to chip in and one thing was for certain, he was going to drink our beer.
The Geelong boys cemented a bond with John.
Many nights around the campfire John told tales of the fish that got away, dairy farming, hunting and did I mention drinking our beer?
We are grateful for the time that we had with John. Especially when he came to Geelong to watch the mighty Cats and stayed the weekend.
On behalf of the past and present members of the Geelong Duck Hunters camp, Bill, Bathy, Bondy, Dick, Les (dec.), Ant (dec.), Ruffin (dec.), Stan (dec.), Shelley (dec.), Greg, Rob, Daniel, Ben, Andy, Pods, Gryllsy, Hayesy, Dave, Bruce and all others that have joined us over the years would like to pass our condolences to the Munzel families at this sad time.
John will be missed and our annual pilgrimage to Gunbower will never be the same.
To all the Munzel families, sympathy and prayers to all of you at this sad time for the loss of John. I was so sad when I heard John fell off the perch in Canada. I had known John all the time I lived in Gunbower, as a friend and customer. He was always smiling and easy going. He loved his fishing and shooting. When on vacation in Canada at Andrew’s family home the bears were too much for him. We will always remember John and never forget him. To all the family treasure the memories. I will be with you on the live stream Friday. RIP John and continue to fish and hunt with the angels.🙏🙏.
