To the Keogh Family
We greatly appreciated working with Greg over many years.
He was a good man, a great Doctor & a fun storyteller.
He will be greatly missed.
Deepest sympathy to all Dr Keogh, family. May he rest in peace
The first time I met Dr Keogh I was five and fell up a hill and my grandmother took me to the Belgrave clinic.
Never thinking that I would be a patient plus my husband. He was a marvellous Dr to my husband , he diagnosed Sam with Parkinson’s and treated him so well.
RIP Greg. Barham/ Kerang gave list a wonder caring Dr. 😍😍😍😍
Dear Maureen, Luke, Simone, Ben and families (and remembering Shirley passed). Sending you my heartfelt condolences to you all. Greg and my Dad Paul had a long friendship that’s lasted since their student years. As a child our families shared great times together in Monbulk especially. I have very fond memories of Luke always reading the newspaper since a child and together with Simone jumping off the haystacks at the farm dodging the horns of the goat. Putting apples on them was an impressive solution Luke! My heart is still there with you all. I’m thinking of you all at this sad time and hope that we will see each other again. Fond memories and loving thoughts for you all. Much love, Emily Clarke

Dear Maureen, Luke, Simone, Ben and families, I’m so saddened to hear of Greg’s passing. My heart goes out to you all, at such a difficult time. I hope your memories help to ease your sorrow. Greg was such a dear friend to my Mum and Dad since their school-aged years, and I have such lovely memories of him, when you all lived in Monbulk, as well as in later years. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to you all. Sincerely, Rachel Clarke.
Great memories of a wonderful family doctor. I enjoyed working alongside Greg at the Murray Plains Division of GPS and at the Kerang Hospital. He cared for elder members of our family also. Our thoughts are with the family at this time. Love Judy Roberts, Paul, Mark, Ruth and Andrew
Our sincere sympathy to the Keogh family, and a huge thankyou to Dr Greg Keogh for his enormous contribution to the community of Barham and Koondrook in provision of medical services at the hospital, community health and care of elderly residents in Eliza House over many years all while maintaining his full time GP practice in Kerang. I loved his Saint Patrick’s Day outfit and his beautiful cheeky smile.
Brilliant Simone!!!
Your mother would have been very proud!!
Thank you Carmel, and thank you for thinking of Dad during your own difficult time. Love to you and Sam.
I have a photo to send to you when I can xx

Rip Dr Keogh a great man had the pleasure of working with him early on in my nursing career and he was like a walking ultrasound or X-ray machine with any diagnosis and just predicting I was pregnant with my first baby when I didn’t even know. You will be greatly missed xx
Dear Simone and family,

Dr. Greg was such a great Doctor to the folks in Monbulk, and an amazing boss to work for at Mt Pleasant Medical Clinic. Nurse Jenny and I often reminisce about working together for Dr Greg…..and always saying they were our best years of our years of working. We were so sad when he sold the Clinic and moved to Barham, but knew how much he was looking forward to the tree change.
My sincere sympathy goes to all his families…Luke, Simone and
Ben. I know he’ll be missed greatly. He left so many wonderful memories to those who knew him. RIP Greg with Shirley….. and sending my love to everyone. Xxxxx
Dear Simone and family,
My sincerely condolences for the loss of your father. It was a pleasure to have met him so many years ago and hear about the legacy he has left.
I wish you peace, strength and love during this very challenging and difficult time. My thoughts and love are especially with you today, but am with you as a support for the future.
May you remember the wonderful memories and experiences during his life and learn to cope with such a loss.
Love and strength,
Love Jo
Dear Maureen, Luke, Simone, Ben and families.
Where do I start?
Firstly with an apology for not making it up to Barham today. Mum (Auntie Barb!) is going through a bit of a rough patch and
is currently on an extended hospital stay so that is taking up a lot of our time and energy.
When I told her of your Dad’s passing she couldn’t keep up her usually stoic facade and there was a huge emotional release.
Not before or since has she had a friend as close as your mum and we often talk about the holidays and antics our parents got up to.
Maureen, in more recent times Mum and Pa (Len) would always talk about the phone calls and visits to them at Berrigan by you and Dr Keogh.
For me the first things that come to mind with childhood and teenage memories always seem to involve your family and barely a week
goes by when I don’t have a thought about ‘The Keoghs’. The practical jokes our dads and Paul Squires used to get up to…
I remember one day where your family woke up to a couple of Santo’s For Sale signs out the front of the clinic and the farms that
dad and helpers had spent half the night relocating from properties they should have been on. My love of loud Midnight Oil, Rolling Stones
and of course David Bowie comes from you guys. The panic as Spike always came running towards our car dragging a cartwheel when when pulled up.
Stripping down to my school footy shorts in Doc Keogh’s home office to be covered, neck to toe in texta, as he helped Simone prepare for a
surface anatomy exam. The piles of newspapers on the end of that long table, every page marked with articles circled and people’s names
written as to who it might be interesting for. A stormy night with your whole family out at Len’s place helping us hold down plastic house
covers to minimise the damage. Ben and I under the overturned canoe in the dam with our mums screaming at us from the bank to come out.
A tiny car pulling up in our drive and no less than 15 strangers piling out of it followed by Luke’s smiling face! Low key Christmas afternoons
together after respective obligations had been taken care of. I could go on all day.
Doc Keogh lived a great life, full of adventure. The slide shows of his time up north that he used to show public groups were just breathtaking
and highlighted the life changing and life saving difference he made in the lives of countless people. Vale Doc Keogh. RIP.

Dr Keogh a thoughtful caring doctor to work for.
My thoughts are with you all at this very sad time
My deepest condolences to he extended Keogh family.
Greg and I shared very similar life journeys through school at Xavier, studying medicine together at Melbourne University, and practising Medicine as long term general practitioners.
During our working lives we did not see much of each other, but after retirement we had the pleasure of meeting at old St Vincents medical graduates luncheons, old Univ. Blues Football club functions and occasionally meeting for coffee at Kew with our respective partners.
I first met Greg at Burke Hall when he arrived as a boarder in 1950 and was in the same Grade 6 as me. We were both keen football players and shared being in Xavier teams and especially later on in the University Blues football side where his contribution was revered.
I must mention a comment posted on email by Dick Wilcox who was a prominent Uni Blues team mate of Greg . He said he had many happy memories of Greg as a footballer “he had great judgement, was nuggety and tough and could take a great mark for his size, plus he would yap away and annoy the opposition.”
Greg and my medical careers were a little similar, both practising away from the City and both spending time in the Top End of NT.
Of course , during our working lives we did not see much of each other, but it was great to see a lot more of Greg in our retirement which did include a visit to his property at Barham (Cobham, I think) and I did look forward to catching up with Greg and Maureen for the odd cup of coffee in Kew.
Vale Greg, we will miss you but you will not be forgotten.
