JR, you were a grandfather figure for me, Mark and Dale in our early years. I remember our visits to the farm so fondly. Nyrie sunbaking on the silos or in the kitchen and you in the shed, on the header or sitting out the back in the garden. I loved your cuddles and cheeky grin.
All those hours of hard work at harvest time – it was always the talk of the town and it would be a massive achievement if anyone finished their harvest before JR.
You and Nyrie are part of Quamby’s history and your stories will forever live on!
The family parties on the farms, trips to tennis events and dinners at Quambi formed my upbringing and hold special memories.
Nyrie and all the Ryan clan I will be holding you all close to my heart today. Big love to you all xxx

Dear Nyrie and family
Our sincere condolences on John’s passing. The much loved younger brother of Ursula, son of Bernie and Norma and brother of Peter.
It was special to have time together recently as they shared stories of their childhood.
Our memories of John are that he loved their little town of Quamby, his family and friends, enjoyed a good yarn, a cold beer, having fun at dances, tennis, the races and golf. Our Dad, Pud said he was welcomed and enjoyed the company of the extended Ryan family. We know that some of these joint gatherings were stuff of legendary tales. As they say when an older person dies a library of knowledge and history is gone.
May John rest in eternal peace and be honoured and celebrated on Friday in his birthplace.
Much love Angela, Jacinta, Katrina and our families.
To Nyrie, Steve, Shane, Karyn, Jonathon, Brett and family. It was so sad to hear that John has passed away. A life well lived who certainly loved a great time and plenty of fun. A good family man, a great contributor to the Quambatook community and his love of sport. John the way you have lived your life you have left an indelible imprint on the town of Quambatook and the wider community and you simply have made the world a better place. Well done. Thanks for all the memories. Farewell & god bless. Cheers. 🍺

Dear Nyrie and family
We were very sad to hear the news of John’s passing. He was always larger than life and such a lovely man.
A true gentleman!
We have such great memories of him encouraging us players at the tournament, as we came up from little tackers into the senior ranks, and then extending the same patience and encouragement to our own children.
Hopefully he is at peace now and reuniting with his loved ones in Heaven.
No doubt, he and Bob will be playing tennis and bowls up there and having a beer together.
Best Wishes to you all,
Michelle & David Nickels & family
